Meghan Baker


Meghan Baker (A.R.A.D., R.A.D R.T.S / B.A.T.D Full Member)  has been with the Cumbrae School of Dancing since the age of three, and teaching for us for nearly 20 years. She has her membership teaching certification in Jazz with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing.  After successfully completing Advanced 2 ballet, Meghan went on to complete the two-year Royal Academy of Dance CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) program.  Meghan has attended teacher training at RAD headquarters in London, England, as well as multiple CPD courses both locally and internationally including RAD's En Avant & the Toronto Dance Teacher Expo.

 

Her dance training at Cumbrae was supplemented by programs at the American Theatre Dance Workshop in New York City and Quinte Ballet School of Canada, in Belleville.  She attended Ecole Secondaire De La Salle, where she was part of the ballet program, and danced on the competitive team at the University of Ottawa.

 

In addition to teaching, Meghan is an executive at Treasury Board Secretariat.  She has completed her Master's in Economics, and has completed PhD coursework.  She has been on faculty at Algonquin College where she was teaching microeconomics.
