Nelda Cherrier
Nelda Cherrier (B.A.T.D. Assoc. Member, R.A.D. Student Member) has been dancing at Cumbrae since 2008. She has studied tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and theatre dance. In 2013, she acquired her associate teaching certification in both jazz and tap with The British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD), and holds her Intermediate Ballet certificate with The Royal Academy of Dance, as well as her Grade 7 Ballet certificate (RAD) with distinction.
During her post-secondary education, Nelda was on the dance team at both Brock University and McMaster University. Nelda has attended numerous workshops and conventions including The Pulse on Tour & Coastal Dance Rage, and attended The American Theatre Dance Workshop's Summer Intensive in New York. Nelda was a BATD North American Trixie Hardy Theatre Dance Scholarship nominee for five consecutive years.
Nelda completed her Bachelors in Public Health in 2018 and her Masters in Public Health in 2020. She currently is working full time as a Policy Analyst for the Public Health Agency of Canada.
